Scouts from Troop 103 presented the flags for the opening of the Oakland A's game on July 29th. We attended as guests of our troop sponsor the Rotary Club of Warm Springs. 25 scouts attended Summer Camp at Wente Scout Camp near Willits, CA from July 16th thru July 22nd. A Philmont Cavalcade (horseback trek) was attended by 8 scouts in early July. They were on the trail for 8 days. June 2006
21 scouts travelled to Cherry Valley (Catalina Island) for a week of Summer Camp from 6/24 thru 7/1. April 2006
Yosemite NP was the destination on the 28th-30th for 16 scouts. We had an Eagle Court of Honor for Greg G. on the 8th. The Troop hosted Webelos Woods at Rancho Los Moches for Webelos and their parents on the 1st & 2nd. Lots of fun activities were offered. March 2006
A small, but dedicated group of intrepid hikers set out on the 19th to Mt. St Helena for a Rim-of-the-bay hike. Beautiful spring weather made for an enjoyable time. Snow ball fights took place in the 6-8" of snow found at the top. 26 scouts set out on the 10th to an unknown destination. As they would find out the Mystery Trip was to be whale watching. Rough seas caused a few uneasy stomachs. Several close encounters with whales were reported. February 2006
Castle Air Museum was the destination on the 10-12 for a campout and service project. January 2006
39 people set out on Saturday the 14th for some snow fun and camping at Pinecrest. Because of their training everyone stayed dry and warm while camping in the snow. December 2005
We held a Court-of-Honor on the 19 and recognized scouts for 13 rank advancements and 17 Merit Badges along with several other awards. The Marin Youth Hostel was the base of operations for our outing on the 9th-11th. A visit to the Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model, a restored Nike Missile Battery, and Battery Wallace provided a lot of interest and history. 22 scouts and several adults attended the Winter Awareness Training on Saturday the 3rd in preparation for the upcoming snow campout. On the 12th we distributed Scouting-For-Food bags and then went back a week later on the 19th to pick them up. The Troop working with Pack 199 collected a record number of 8771 food items. After distributing bags on the 13th we conducted a troop Junior Leader Training (JLT) class taught by the older scouts at Los Moches. This was an opportunity for the recently elected and appointed junior leaders to learn some valuable leadership skills. October 2005
The troop attended the Fall Camporee on the 7th - 9th at Los Moches. The Flamming Arrows earned two 2nd place ribbons and the Bison earned a 3rd place ribbon. Well Done! September 2005
The troop went to Los Moches on the 23rd-25th for a weekend of Pioneering. A number of varied projects were assembled by the scouts using their knots and lashings. A Court-of-Honor was held on the 26 and offered the chance to recognize scouts for the achievements earned over the summer. Ten rank advancements and 132 Merit Badges were presented along with numerous other awards.
