July/August 2007

A busy summer for Troop 103. The Venture Patrol took off to Hawaii, other scouts went to Summer Camps at Camp Royaneh and Camp Wolfeboro. We also had scouts attend the World Jambore in England and had scouts on Camp staff at Camp Royaneh and Camp Emerald Bay.

We even found time for an Eagle Court-of-Honor for TJ McEntee.

June 2007

One the 3rd after doing some tent sealing and equipment maintenace the troop had a BBQ and pool party at the Cabana Club.

May 2007

Two Eagle Court-of-Honors were held this month. On the 5th for Andrew Mitscha and on the 12th for David Carson.

On the 19th and 20th the troop headed off to an unknown destination for the long anticipated Mystery Trip. After taking a ferry, light rail, bus, cable cars and seeing the sights of San Francisco the troop arrived at Camp Ida Smith for the night. The next day found them swimming, taking more public transportaion and eventually getting back to Fremont via BART.

April 2007

A horseback riding trip was the activity for a small but dedicated group of cowboys on the 27th-29th.

The troop gathered at Warm Springs school on the 1st to do some clean-up around the school. Annually we do this service project to help out the school.

March 2007

Mission Peak was warm and sunny for the scouts who participated in this Rim-of-the-Bay hike on the 18th.

The Klondike Derby snow campout was the destination on the 3rd and 4th with a home made sled for the patrol competitions. The sled held up well and even was used to haul gear on from the cars to the camp site.

February 2007

A warm welcome to 6 Webelos from Pack 199 and one from Pack 153 who bridged into Troop 103 this month.

On the 9th-11th we took our bikes to Coyote Hills for a campout/bike ride. On Saturday a 20-mile ride to Niles and back along Alameda Creek was the highlight of the weekend.

January 2007

We held an Eagle Court of Honor for Brenden P. on the 20th.

Moaning Caverns offered lots of fun on the 12th-14th. One group repelled into the cave and crawled around for 3 hours while another group went to a gold mine and rafted across an underground lake.

December 2006

We held a Court-of-Honor on the 18th and recognized scouts for rank advancements and Merit Badges recently earned.

On the 8th-10th a weekend of shooting sports found the troop at Rancho Los Moches where the scouts practiced their rifle, shotgun and archery skills.

November 2006

On the 11th we distributed Scouting-For-Food bags and returned on the 18th to collect them. Al record total of 10, 406 items were collected.

Mt. Wittenberg, one of the Rim-of-the-Bay hikes was the destination on the 5th for a group of hikers.

October 2006

On the 28th and 29th the Troop went to Rancho Los Moches and worked on the camp. Oak trees were planted and staked and some trail maintenance was performed. While the scouts did all of that a few adults worked on putting siding on the shower house. On Sunday morning the scouts spent the morning at the shoot gun range on their shooting skills.

A Canoe outing on the Russian River was our first outing to kick off this scout year on the 22nd - 24th.
